Description

Stuff the Giant Kennel Donation Drive Animal lovers and others are urged to “Stuff the Trolley” with needed pet supplies Saturday, May 17 beginning at 10 a.m. at the Animal Service Center, 1125 Easterwood Drive.  The event is sponsored by the Animal Shelter Foundation Inc., the nonprofit group providing direct support to the 400+ animals at the Animal Service Center. The “Stuff the Trolley” donation drive is another fundraiser designed to increase community support for the services provided by the Center, and is being held to benefit the foster program at the Animal Service Center.  The foster program provides a place for animals that need additional assistance to be adopted and animals that are not yet ready for adoption such as infants, animals who have undergone surgery, and are undergoing heartworm treatment.  In 2007, approximately 850 animals were placed in foster care.  When the supplies are not available at the Animal Service Center, the foster homes provide the supplies needed for the care of the animals at their own expense.  Your donations will provide relief for the foster homes and help them to focus on the care of the animals.  Foster parent representatives will be available to answer any questions that you may have and provide more information about the program.  If you are interested in fostering, please contact the Animal Service Center at 891-2950 or e-mail Christina at shelterfoster@yahoo.com. Among the various items on their “Wish List”, the facility is currently seeking donations of canned/dry puppy, dog, kitten, and cat food and treats, cat litter, litter boxes, crates, toys, old blankets, towels, empty ink cartridges, shoeboxes and newspaper. For more information call 891-2950 or visit www.talgov.com for the Shelter’s current “Wish List”. *Link to http://www.talgov.com/dncs/asc/wishlist.cfm
