"American Idol" winner David Cook is continuing to enjoy the perks his big win brings -- Wednesday night he threw out the first pitch at a New York Mets game.
"I'm a huge sports fan, a big baseball fan and so to be able to do anything like this is always really cool," Cook, who was sporting a beard, said of the experience.
David Cook was invited to Shea Stadium by Mets third baseman David Wright, who founded the David Wright Foundation. Cook said, "David [Wright] actually reached out to me towards the end of the ["American Idol"] season, really wanted to try to help out to get my older brother out to the finale and stuff, really reached out and he was cool, and then reached out very recently to invite me out today."
ET has confirmed that "Project Runway" judge and fashion designer Michael Kors is joining the teen ranks of The CW's guilty pleasure, "Gossip Girl," for one hot night this fall. Michael appears as himself during a New York Fashion Week episode the show recently taped.
The witty designer tells Women's Wear Daily that he's a diehard 'GG' fan: "I love the clothes, everyone is good-looking, the plot line is a riot. I love the show. They called and said, ‘You are very 'Gossip Girl.' I thought, 'Finally, I am a teenager.'"
Joining him on the episode are heiress Tinsley Mortimer and Cristina Cuomo, editorial director for Gotham and Hamptons mags. "Gossip Girl" returns Sept. 1 on The CW.

Less than a week after being hospitalized for pneumonia, ET has the word on Bernie Mac's condition.
"Bernie Mac is in stable condition in a Chicago area hospital," a rep for the actor tells ET. "He is responding well to treatment and hopes to be released in the next few weeks. His family thanks everyone for the well wishes and concern."
ET confirms Morgan Freeman has been released from the Memphis hospital where he was airlifted Sunday night following a serious car accident in Mississippi.
"I left the hospital today just after 12 noon, Memphis time," Freeman tells ET exclusively. "I'm doing very well. I feel real good. I just really, I thank the staff at Elvis Presley [medical facility] and many, many thanks to my many well-wishers. It's great to know people care about you."

It is only August, but "American Idol" host Ryan Seacrest knows what he will be doing on New Year's Eve. He will return as the co-host of the newly titled "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest."

Paris Hilton took time out from promoting her latest handbag line in Copenhagen to speak out about the overwhelming reaction to her spoof video in which she declared she's running for president.
"It was a lot of fun," Hilton told Women's Wear Daily about the mock campaign, which came in response to a campaign ad by Republican presidential hopeful John McCain that portrayed his Democratic rival Barack Obama as a celebrity on a par with Hilton and Britney Spears.

ET confirms that Dixie Chick Emily Robison has divorced her husband, singer Charlie Robison, after nine years of marriage.
A rep for the Dixie Chicks banjo player said the divorce was final. "They remain the best of friends and their family is obviously the priority." The couple married in 1999 and have three children together.
